Local Restaurant In National Top 3
Local Restuarant Takes Parliament By Storm
John Cryer has congratulated the Star of India for an outstanding showcase at the Lyca Tiffen Grand Final which was held at the House of Commons (6 July 2011).
Star of India was the only London restaurant to make it to a Tiffin cup final
but even more so it is the first London restaurant ever to place in the top three in the prestigious Lyca Tiffen Cup competition.
The national competition is held each year to find the best South Asian restaurant in the country. The final took place at the House of Commons where all the finalist prepared a signature main course - judged by a select panel which included EastEnders actress Nina Wadia. The Rt Hon John Bercow, Speaker of the House of Commons announced the winners.
The Tiffin Cup has been running since 2006 and raises money for charities. This year the charity is World Vision which supports children around the world who face injustice and poverty.
